We, as a united community at the Islamic Center of Western Pennsylvania (ICWP), stand together to unequivocally condemn and denounce the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza. We are profoundly disheartened by the heart-wrenching loss of innocent lives, especially children. The images of suffering and destruction that unfold each day during these hostilities pierce the hearts of every compassionate human being. We ponder, if even animals are not to be treated in such a manner, how can we allow such suffering to befall men, women,, and children in Gaza? It is with a strong voice of conscience that we call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire and an end to hostilities. We urgently appeal for humanitarian assistance to be provided to alleviate the immense suffering of people in Gaza. We also demand the immediate opening of the Rahaf crossing to ensure that all aid reaches the people of Gaza. In this moment of turmoil and uncertainty, we stand as advocates for peace, justice, and compassion. It is our sincere hope that the international community will come together, transcending political divides, to work toward a lasting resolution that safeguards the dignity and rights of innocent people and children in Gaza. As we bear witness to these painful events, our thoughts and prayers are with those directly affected by these attacks. Together, let us channel our collective will, determination, and moral commitment to support people in Gaza in all legitimate and possible ways.
