اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Pronunciation guide
Allahumma Rabban-nas, adh-hibil-ba’s, ishfihi wa Antash-Shafi, la shifa’a illa shifa’uk, shifa’an la yughadiru saqaman.
MEANING
O Allah, Lord of all people, remove the suffering. Heal him, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Yours: healing that leaves no illness.
The Prophet ﷺ said this when treating an ailing member of his family.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي
Pronunciation guide
Allahummaghfir li, warhamni, wahdini, wa ‘afini, warzuqni.
MEANING
O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me.
A comprehensive supplication the Prophet ﷺ taught a person upon embracing Islam.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى
Pronunciation guide
Allahumma inni as’alukal-huda, wat-tuqa, wal-‘afafa, wal-ghina.
MEANING
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and freedom from need.
A supplication for guidance and sufficiency, reported from the Prophet ﷺ.

Protection for children
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Pronunciation guide
A‘udhu bi-kalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaytanin wa hammah, wa min kulli ‘aynin lammah.
MEANING
I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words from every devil, every harmful creature, and every harmful eye.
Reported in the account of the Prophet ﷺ seeking protection for al-Hasan and al-Husayn. The wording shown follows this narration.

Worry, grief & debt
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
Pronunciation guide
Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa dala‘id-dayn, wa ghalabatir-rijal.
MEANING
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, inability and laziness, cowardice and stinginess, the burden of debt, and being overpowered by others.
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to make this supplication.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
Pronunciation guide
A‘udhu bi-kalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq.
MEANING
I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words from the evil of what He has created.
The Prophet ﷺ taught this supplication upon stopping at a place.

Goodness in this life & the next
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Pronunciation guide
Allahumma Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina ‘adhaban-nar.
MEANING
O Allah, our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Anas reported that this was among the Prophet’s ﷺ most frequent supplications.
